Jelly art atau juga biasa dikenal dengan the art of jelly pertama kali ditampilkan di Brazil. Jelly art ini merupakan seni menghias puding yang terbuat dari gelatin, sehingga dinamakan Gelatinas Artistica. Seni ini pun menyebar ke negara-negara Asia dan berkembang menjadi seni menghias puding yang kreatif. Bahan gelatin dapat diganti dengan menggunakan jelly konnyaku atau agar-agar bubuk yang mudah ditemukan di pasaran.

Untuk membuat jelly art, dibutuhkan alat-alat khusus seperti alat suntik dan pisau khusus jelly art. Alat-alat tersebut dapat membentuk berbagai motif yang diinginkan. Tiap pisau dapat memberikan motif yang berbeda. Begitupun dengan alat suntik. Jika Anda menyuntikkan dengan cara dan arah yang berbeda, akan menghasilkan motif yang berbeda-beda pula.

jelly-2Alat suntik yang digunakan dalam jelly art ada dua jenis, yaitu alat suntik 10 ml dan 5 ml. Alat suntik 10 ml biasa digunakan untuk membuat kelopak bunga dengan beragam bentuk. Tanpa bantuan pisau, kelopak bunga dapat dibentuk dengan cara menggeser jarumnya dititik yang sama, lalu cairan disemprotkan untuk mengisi ruang kelopak. Berbeda dengan alat suntik 5 ml yang volumenya lebih kecil. Biasanya digunakan untuk membuat putik atau rerumputan.

Pisau atau jelly art tools berjumlah delapan buah dengan masing-masing pisau memiliki dua mata pisau yang berbeda kegunaannya. Ada yang digunakan untuk membuat sayap kupu-kupu, kelopak bunga lili, kelopak bunga dahlia, sampai ada pisau khusus untuk membuat daun. Anda dapat mengkreasikan sendiri aneka bunga yang diinginkan dengan pilihan pisau jelly art ini.
