Hari itu, Kamis (21/11) Demedia mengadakan kelas boga dengan tema: Pempek, Siomay, dan Bakso

Aroma wangi menguar dari panci berisi kuah bakso yang sedang dididihkan. Sesekali tercium aroma khas cuko pempek berpadu dengan segarnya aroma mentimun. Wajah-wajah ceria dan bersemangat tampak memenuhi ruangan serbaguna di kantor Redaksi Demedia, Jln Haji Montong 57 Ciganjur, Jakarta Selatan. Hari itu, Kamis (21/11) Demedia mengadakan kelas boga dengan tema: Pempek, Siomay, dan Bakso

Ada yang berbeda dengan kelas boga kali ini. Jika biasanya Demedia menggandeng penulis buku untuk memasak bersama dengan para peserta, kali ini Tim Dapur Demedia yang terjun langsung. Suasana pelatihan terasa begitu cair. Para peserta yang dibagi menjadi beberapa kelompok, langsung berbaur akrab satu sama lain. Masakan pertama yang dibuat adalah pempek kapal selam, yakni pempek berisi telur ayam.

“Saat mencampur adonan, jangan diuleni, karena kalau diuleni pempek akan menjadi keras,” ujar Ayu Kharie, dari Tim Demedia berbagi tip. Para peserta tampak serius menyimak penjelasan Redaktur Pelaksana Demedia ini.

Ternyata ada trik khusus supaya pempek kapal selam yang dihasilkan cantik.
“Kurangi jumlah putih telur, lalu tuangkan kuning telur ke dalam adonan yang sudah dibentuk cekung seperti mangkok, setelah itu katupkan. Dengan demikian telur tidak luber,” kata Ayu sambil memperlihatkan cara menuang telur.

Setelah pempek matang, peserta diajak membuat siomay pangsit bumbu kacang. Adonan siomay udang dibungkus dengan kulit pangsit, lalu dikukus. Masakan terakhir adalah bakso. Daging sapi yang sudah digiling dan dibumbui, lalu dibentuk bulatan-bulatan dengan sendok. Setelah itu bakso direbus dalam air mendidih hingga matang.

Meskipun tangan belepotan tepung serta bau ikan dan daging, para peserta tampak puas, karena sukses membuat 3 masakan. Peserta diperkenankan membawa pulang hasil masakannya untuk oleh-oleh keluarga.
